Violinist Yang Liu, a prizewinner of the Twelfth International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, is also a first-prize winner of the 2023 American Prize in String Performance, the 2022 Medici International Competition, the 2021 International Artist Award, and China’s 5th National Violin Competition. Pianist Olivia Tsai is a respected pedagogue, scholar, and arts leader. A frequent presenter at national conferences including MTNA, CMS, NCKP, and GP3, she is recognized for her advocacy of music rooted in Chinese and Taiwanese heritage and for her leadership in expanding the chamber music canon through cross-cultural repertoire and contemporary works.
Together, Yang & Olivia founded the Yang & Olivia Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through music performance, commissioning, and community engagement. Their recent programming highlights contemporary works by Taiwanese women composers, Brazilian composers, and emerging American voices. Outreach initiatives extend their work to schools, libraries, senior communities, and faith-based venues, reinforcing their belief that chamber music belongs within the broader civic and cultural landscape.
Their innovative collaborations have included interdisciplinary performances integrating live painting by the Zhou Brothers and poetry recitation by renowned Chinese poet Bei Dao, expanding the concert experience beyond traditional formats. Her book Schubert’s Piano Trios (Scholar’s Press, 2014) reflects her scholarly engagement with performance and analysis. Dr. Tsai has appeared as soloist with orchestras in the United States and China and has served on the faculty of major festivals including Aspen. She is co-founder of the Yang & Olivia Arts Foundation, dedicated to promoting music of diverse cultural influences through performance and community engagement.

2018年，兩人共同創立「璇揚藝術基金會」，致力於透過演出、委約創作與教育推廣倡導文化多元、公平與包容。近年來，他們的節目呈現臺灣女性作曲家、巴西作曲家及美國青年作曲家的當代作品，並將音樂帶入學校、圖書館與社區空間。主題系列音樂會如《探索靈魂》《五千里之旅》《迷失於多元》，深入探討文化遷徙、身份認同與堅韌精神在音樂中的體現。
他們亦積極推動跨界合作，曾與周氏兄弟合作現場繪畫演出，並結合當代詩人北島的詩歌朗誦拓展藝術形式。其藝術計畫獲得美國國家藝術基金會、中大西洋藝術基金會及伊利諾伊藝術委員會等機構的支持。
